Carpay’s Work Late Accounts feature automates past due customer payment follow-up using sequences of messages.

What is Work Late Accounts?

Work Late Accounts is a payment follow-up automation tool built into the Carpay dealer site. It helps your team manage late or missed payments more efficiently by automatically contacting customers and prompting them to catch up.

Work Late Accounts can:

  • Reduce manual outreach for past-due accounts

  • Improve on-time payment rates

  • Provide consistent customer follow-up


How Work Late Accounts works

Work Late Accounts uses sequences — predefined sets of messages — to engage customers whose payments are late or about to become late.

A sequence can include:

  • Text message reminders

  • Email notifications

Once an account is added to a sequence, Carpay automates the delivery of these messages over time, based on the rules of that sequence.


Setting up a Work Late Accounts sequence

To use this feature:

  1. Log in to the Carpay dealer site in your web browser.

  2. Go to the Work Late Accounts section.

  3. Add customers to the sequence:

    • Click the Actions button on the right side

    • Select Add Customers

    • Use filters to find accounts:

      • Days Late Filter: Set a range (e.g., X to X days late)

      • Default view shows 0 to 0 days late

      • Adjust this filter to display all past-due accounts when needed

    • You can also search by customer name

  4. Select a predefined sequence (each one has different messages and frequencies).

  5. Select which accounts should enter the sequence (Carpay will automatically only display customers that are currently due as of today and past due.

  6. Activate the sequence.

Once a sequence is active, eligible accounts will automatically receive reminders and messages according to the schedule you specified.


Managing Sequences

After setting up one or more sequences, you can:

  • View which accounts are currently in a sequence

  • See message status and response history

  • Pause or stop a sequence for specific accounts

This makes it easier to keep track of all follow-up activity in one place.

  • Choose an outreach schedule that aligns with your collections policy

  • Use clear, professional language in automated messages

  • Monitor sequence performance and adjust if needed

  • Combine automation with personalized contact when appropriate

Yes — you can pause or stop the sequence for individual accounts.
